Thread: Chamois Mount

    Chamois Mount

I recently returned from New Zealand where I managed to shoot a half decent Chamois buck. No Tahr unfortunately. I boiled out and nose cut the head whilst I was there so I could get in on the plane.

I was wondering if anyone had advise on how it should be mounted. I feel that it will look funny mounted on a straight shield as the horns are so vertical?

Jonesie, I have some Chamois mounts from Germany (not hunted by me unfortunately) and they are mounted on shields that are wedge shaped, thicker at the bottom than the top so the horns are angled back.
I also have some that are mounted flat. They don't look too bad.
    Best Regards,

Jedward. The reason why there are two barrels on a shotgun.
