Leupold QRW 30mm rings wont grip wever rail?

    Am I doing something dim?

My new Leupold 30mm quick release mounts wont grip the rail blocks on my Savage Arms HMR? The old 1" QR mounts seem fine but the new 30s just rattle abbout.

Am I missing something or is it a manufacturing error?

unscrew the QR handle and invert the block
sometimes the block angle is shorter on one end than the other

they also have two grooves for the upper edge of the block
switch them round if you can

My Leupold QRW rings are square on one side and rounded on the opposite side of the crossbar, to fit various types of cross slots.

The hole for the block is offset so it will only go one way up. Defo two grouves but no way to get the block to line up with the bottom one.

I note with my 25mm monts the QD block tightens right up to the mount but on the 30s it stops with about a 0.5 mm gap

I am starting to think its just a bad batch
