    that would cook lovely buried for a few hrs with some hot rocks

    Had summit similar in Kos years ago , lamb kleftico ( spelling?)
    Was told it was lamb buried with hot rocks in hole in the ground ,
    Dunnoe but was lovely

    We have kleftico with lamb now and then, but I'd never thought of doing it with venison (have to add some fat to it).Kleftico was supposedly a bandits food as you could cook it without an obvious fire (I believe kleftico means "stolen", and it was a way of cooking stolen goat kid without given yourself away).. hmmm, theres an idea! No munty up here though (yet).
