    Nosler partition in .243 win

Guys I've got a finnlight that prefers 70-80 grain bullets in .243. For larger deer I have a .275 and a .30-06 but if like to be able to fire a better bullet through my .243.
Has anyone used the 85 grain nosler partition in .243? What results did you get? Any load advice?
    many thanks

That's all I have used in my 243 for the last 10+yrs , great accuracy and usually knocks roe straight down.
good exit hole if they do run so plenty to follow but I have never had anything go farther than 30 yds
    this through a sako s/s 75

Not the Nosler but I reload the 85grain Sierra Game King and think it's fantastic in the 243. Great accuracy and good terminal ballistics. Every roe has dropped on the spot so far and foxes have great big holes left in them. Apart from the Barnes I can't think of a better all round bullet for the 243. I'm getting just under 3000fps with 43.5 grains of IMR4350

I tried, 100 grain, Nosler Partition, them in my 6mm Remington Parker Hale M81 Classic. So I'm guessing same twist rate as P -H used in their .243 Winchester barrels. I also tried Remington's Core-Lokt Ultra Bonded 100 grain. Neither shot well and at two hundred yards plus both were tumbling. I have no experience of the 85 grain version. Be aware!

It is, in forty years of shooting, probably the only rifle that despite altering the loads that I've never been able to get to shoot to an acceptable level. It may have been a twist rate issue or it may have been something else. But the fact that the bullets were tumbling at two hundred yards suggests otherwise.

My load was 42.0 grains IMR 4350 (worked up to from 41.0 grains IMR 4350) so maybe it was too slow and that was the fault? But I didn't want to go with a heavier charge weight as I think that that loading was heavy enough. Last comment in my Game Book is in October 2012:

"The end game for the 6mm Remington. This rifle has consistently failed to achieve anything better than a three inch group. More often, in fact, not even that. Tried with 42.0 grains IMR 4350 and the 100 grain Nosler Partition giving 3"-4" groups. This rifle has failed, ever, to produce acceptable accuracy."
