Your may well get away with extra lo, check the Optilock .pdf on the Sako website against the outer diameter of your scope objective end.

I had similar on my 85 in 308. The low would fit but were too close to the barrel for comfort (I am talking fag papers here) so opted for the medium

Sorry, didn't realise there was a potential clash there, I was just going on my experiences with similar sized scope on Sako 75.

I've a number of SAKO rifles, and the only one I've got medium mounts on is a heavy-barrelled one fitted with a 56mm 'scope.
42s and 50s I've managed with one-piece Optilocks, or extra-low and low, all with enough room for Butler Creeks.

It depends on the barrel-profile and where along the barrel the objective bell ends up, though.

I've a 85 with the heavy varmint barrel in 243, it has a 50mm Duralyt on it in low Optilocks and its fine.
