They all pretty much state the same coverage, etc....but what i can say is that Scottish Game Keepers have consistently went further and put themselves out more for me than either BASC or the BDS.
You don't have to be Scottish to join

However in light of most recent events, i'd join the organisation which i believe will most aggressively fight for my rights knowing that my subs are being deposited in the war chest - rather than funding the next 'old boys banquet.'

I am with SACS 10.000,000 coverage and a few extras when it came to getting down a dirty regarding the legislation put forward by the DCS they were there, other organisations were slow to respond reason was they had already backed most of the proposals at the secrate meetings.

SACS for me as well - even though I live at the other end of the country.

They also have 100,000 legal expenses insurance should you need it and appear to be very willing to go head-to-head with the police over justified firearms issues.

Are you referring to the Wildlife & Natural Environment Bill? If so, what is the basis for your comments? Have you read the responses that were submitted: http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publicati.../11/10135520/0

SACS for me too, excellent value for 30.00 a year.
I read the responses re the WNEB, I responded to the initial proposal after a lot of personal research, it galled me that a certain organisation claimed fame for pointing out that there were NO deer stalking related deaths in Scotland, still they are history as far as I'm concerned and from what I read in the Shooting Times 'they' wil be history for a lot of other people.

Careful not to confuse insurance cover with the other elements of membership of shooting organisations. Sticking with insurance, all I will say is, it is one of the few things in life that you buy hoping never to use and you have no idea how it will perform until you come to use it in your hour of need. I had a nasty experience with Direct Line dog insurance, all looked good on paper but when it came to the crunch, it was pants and I had to deal with some of the most insensitive, incompetent morons that walk the earth, Direct Line must have a specialist recruitment and training department in order to come up with idiots like those. Rant over! (by the way, don't use direct line!) JC

Willie Gun before the WNEB was made public there had already been many many meets behind closed doors . BDS BASC and NGO SGA had all backed most of the proposals at that time not knowing were it would lead. But it hit the public domain by courtesy of a member of the Internet sites and then and only then were were aloud to comment. That is when BASC BDS and the rest had to put there case forward to there membership. There were leading us down the river for there own benefit .(they thought that it would have been them that got the chance to do the compulsory testing when they found out that this might not be the case they started to back off and side with there members.) This is one of the reasons i was glad to see Griff get put on the BASC council as this time they might not get away with stamping on the deer stalker. Sorry for the rant but most people think this bill was thought up by the DCS a loan and it most certainly was not.
