Barry I orginate from New Mills in Derbyshire then moved to Wigan ( Pie Eating Country) in Greater Manchester Lancs then in the last few years moved slightly over the Border between Cumbria and Lancashire and Yorkshire so I havent time to see any of those stretched pennies yet you call wire.
I seem to spend more of my time up in Dumfries these days and i have to say it the women up there train police horses they are that ugly, it takes a lot to frighten a police horse as you know, I think they come down to Egremont to enter the gurning contests
And it is true what they say about Scotsmen they are that tight they dont leave chinks in the curtains at night in case they let any light out

When I were a lad, in Thirsk , I was told by an old chap the definition of a Yorkshireman.

It's a man who can buy something from a Welchman and sell it to a Scotsman, and make a profit

My Granpa used to say it was a Scotsman who lost his generosity
