What the EU President has just said!

I am posting a link from the BBC about what teh EU president Mr Junker has said about the referendum. It will be spun in many ways but is probably not helpful to the remain camp.

EU referendum: Juncker in 'out is out' warning to UK - BBC News

    Hope the link works

It appears he just thinks the talk of leaving the EU is just a bargaining ploy.

    SBM,

What was actually said was that "out is out" meaning you are not coming back and "in is in" stating that there will be NO renegotiations on what has just been negotiated (in February).

At no point has there been any mention of FUTURE negotiations among members on the "future" being denied to any member state.

There will be a step change in Europe after this vote whichever way it goes. Wedon't get preferential treatment my IN but we do get punished by OUT in order to stop others thinking about the same.

Somebody needs to point out to Mr. Junker that the vote means nothing. Delivery of the article 50 leave letter is the only thing that the EU can respond to.
Better rid of this bureaucratic bull****.

Please vote, this one counts, whatever you want.

Reading the comments posted following this statement on various sites it would seem that the OUTS are making more capital out of this than the INs at the moment I wonder if this late intervention will make any difference one way or the other. REGARDS sBM

The referendum result is not legally binding, the EU treaty still has to be annulled by MPs and new agreements ratified, MPs could choose to ignore the results if it does not go their way and we could not do anything about it.

    Ian,

Bit of wisdom there. With a split Parliament and a fixed term as well, there is no way your current "friend" will no longer be your enemy and vice versa.

Our next "legal" general election can't be until May 2020.

Well, a vote of no confidence could mean an election sooner.

Well here's the EU telling us what we can and can't have you need to sign this one.
