    Garmin Astro

I'm looking to buy a Garmin Astro, but I don't really want to be shelling out and then find they won't work here. I've read that the USA model won't work unless unlocked ? Would a Euopean model work off the shelf, if so any reccomendations on where to buy from please ?

Yes it will work but even if you buy a USA model its easy to revert back to earlier software, Atb Wayne

Garmin have got crafty i have the astro 320 and DC 50 collar and works perfectly in UK and Europe, what you need is to try and find a dc 50 of a dc 40 collar with a 320 astro.

the T5 collar does not work in the UK unless you have the correct software.

have you considered the Tracker FI? that works in uk and will be my next buy.

there is a tread bit lower down in the section .

Thanks guys, the Tracker.fi looks good, am I right in that it doesn't need phone signal to work ?
Also if I go down that route where to buy from ?

From what I understand, if you have no mobile signal you can find your dog via GPS and if you only have 1 bar of signal and no gps you can still find your dog, even if your dog manages to go to Timbuktu your will still be able to find it as there is no minimum or maximum range

Look at the tracker website and on YouTube. You download the maps to the phone of your area whilst at home then when you connect on site you already have the map. You can get them here. Der Nachsuche Shop von Aduro - Ihre jagdgerechte Einkaufsmglichkeit
