Why bother with an English men's football team?

After last night should we not just say enough is enough. They are a bunch of over paid prima donnas with no commitment to the national team.

Let's put all our efforts into those teams who care about wearing the national shirt.

Give em 350 quid a week they will play then!!!useless barstewards,,,sack the lot,****es me right off one thing too do kick a ball and hopefully get it in that thing at other end ,,,overpaid and over sponsered and now back over here!,

Did anyone read Jamie Carraghers write up in the Daily Mail this week?
It really laid bare the pampered existence that the professional footballer leads in todays football.

Personally id like to see them all donate the last six weeks wages to H4H

Absolute sh!te... watching the ball waiting for someone else to make the move...

Disgusting performance and they deserve to be punished..

That game will live with them all..

They played absolutely dismally...

why do people think they wil do any better every tournament the hype is how well they could do then they get knocked out again dont get why any one is surprised in the slightest

Not sure why this thread is on here as its stalking site /forum. Don't even give then the text space and admin should remove this thread.

There's a very simple answer to this:
"Performance Related Pay"!
There is currently no need for them to win as they get paid the same either way. Rooney currently earns the best part of £300,000 a week whether he wins or loses.
Make that a mere £100,000 if you lose and they would suddenly play much better for sure!

Ridiculous... When you think what real men earn behind enemy lines...

Well you just have to look at who won the Premiership title to see that overpaid divas don't do it. Team work and hard work. Like them or not, Manchester United had the right attitude under Ferguson. Of course they were paid by the bucket load, you have to if you want the best players. But you were there to graft and if you didn't, or acted like a spoilt brat, he wouldn't stand for it and you were down the road, whoever you were. Their results over the period he was in charge speak for themselves.

football, waste of grazing
defo!! top class &,world class RUGBY players in this country get tops £450k a year and bet BATTERED once a week .wages for clubs are capped and players who spit the dummy out cause they don't get picked get shown the door even if they have played for England ! the director of rugby is the BOSS and players respect that. rugby clubs don't change directors like football clubs change managers the whole game is just on a different leval in every way !

Hi After the week the UK:british:had, we all needed something to cheer us all up. And by god the English Duffball National Team, certainly did that. Best 94 minutes of superb football that I've seen in a very long time. Still smiling. Thank you.

Those of us who follow cricket have been through this more than once - eventually there will be a group that plays together and are unbeatable. We have it it in Cricket - at times, in Rugby and in other sports. England football needs a strong captain and lots of young enthusiastic tallent, not players who are superstars in the club game.

Any body see the quote by Bobby Charlton this morning when asked how the 1966 team would have gone on against Iceland ?
He said "We would have won 1-0" Reporter said "only 1-0 " Charlton said "Yes only 1-0,most of us are in our seventies now "
