Tragic incident with tot and an air rifle

Another tragic incident involving an air rifle and a tot!

Baby shot in head with air rifle at block of flats in Bristol - BBC News

Hope the tot recovers, but I can see thus speeding up air rifle licensing in the rest of the UK

but they will try to - as has happened in Scotland already.

Reluctantly I almost agree with air gun licencing, While I do agree it is an "easy" route into shooting sports, a gun is a gun and can kill and maim (accepting that an air rifle is likely to be lest lethal MOST of the time).

I know there are those that will argue that the bad guys will get guns if they want them, but as it stand the idiots have almost free access to air weapons. I don't think that, an incident thing the one above, does shooting sports any favours.

I think a big problem is the punishment handed out or lack for when these things happen be it a legal air gun or illegal weapon
