Gumtree takes anti hunting to the extreme...........

I had a couple of Ferret carry boxes to sell, one triple bow back and a apoachers bow back and I thought all was well when I got a phonecall for the triple which sold immediately.....well I had an email an hour or so later telling me that they had deleted the single bow back as it was associated with hunting......I was gobsmacked! So much so that I actualy found a way to actually speak to them about it,which is definitely not as easy as it seems, but they would not back down even when I asked if they would ban an ad for green wellies as they are associated with hunting!!They would not listen to sense though!

Not every ferret is used for hunting .. in fact I`ll wager that there`s more pet ferrets than there are hunting ones now.

    gumtree is a pain!
If I were you I would advertise it as an animal carrying box so it is not then associated with hunting and there is nothing they can do

You're probably correct John, I used to carry my pet ferret, the one I used to take to Barn dances, or much later Discos, in my pocket. It really pulled the girls once I explained what the smell was !!
Incidentally, I still have a small green ferret box with a shoulder strap and box divider with a price tag on of 10/6d bought from Youngs of Misterton.

What`s that .. fifty two and a half pence? it wouldn`t even buy the screws for the box in this age!

I advertised my ferrets on gumtree last week and they charged me 9:95 for the privelage they took the advert off after about ten seconds Still waiting for a refund. Assholes

Yeah did the same with me when I advertised a Plastic stock once. Oddly though , not sure if they still do? But don't they allow adverts for clap ridden escorts on there?

Maybe you should advertise your ferrets as de clawed........Now all the ex forces guys on here will now be recalling the declawed hamster story that circulated many a NAAFI bar in the 90s.....though that of course that was with a Hamster with a certain my Gere who apparently had one of the blighters wedged somewhere they don't normally go......That's it ....Google will be overloaded in a few mins

John you wouldn't believe the half of it. Everybody had ferrets in those days and you were lucky if you could get 2/6d for one.
AYA shotguns had just started to show on the UK market and the lead in model, the Yeoman I think, were going for 30.10.6d.
Their best gun, a No 2 side lock modelled on the best UK made guns were 112.12.6d, Cartridges were 12/6d a box.
Mind you, in those days, I was working 60 hours a week for 3.12.6d and a pint of milk a day !!

    (Sorry, couldn't resist it!).
Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it, hump it or learn from it then piss on it and walk away.

Ah Youngs of Misterton, what an emporium, absolutely full of everything you could want from ferrets and nets to a cupboard/room literally stacked full of guns.
A definite forerunner for the internet with Mr Young in his brown cowgown and a very personal service. Memories are good to have.
