    6.5x55 home load

I've been Googling around but thought I'd ask on here.

I'm waiting on my variation for 6.5x55 to come back, iv put a deposit down on a Sako 85 with 20 inch barrel.

I'm wondering what powder or powders you've had most success with, I have a tub and a half of varget but I've not seen many good reviews of it in a 6.5x55?

I'm looking at either using 123 grain amax or 129 grain hornady interlocks.

    Cheers
    Dan

Dan, not quiet what you are looking for but as a data point I worked up to this load which suits my rifle very well.
    Sauer 202 - 21" barrel.
Lapua brass, with 120gn Sierra Pro Hunter.
38gn of H4895 and federal 210 match primers

    .44" grouping at 100yds

Try 46-47 gns of H4350 behind either of these projectiles.

I've had great success using N160 N150 & N140 through a range of bullets, using 129g SST's at the minute and 120g Sierra Pro Hunters. Very accurate.

    Sauer 101 6.5x55, Beretta Silver Pigeon 12g Over&Under

I have had great success with N160 in the 6.5 with bullets 120 grain to 140 that's through a sako 22inch barrel , I have also had cracking results with reloader 17 witch I have just started trying and it s looking good same accrucy with more muzzle velocity, so I'd try that if you can get it or swiss rs 60 as I believe it's the same powder

I find 120 grain Hornady A-max on 40.5 grain Vihtavouri N140 works fine.

    Good luck.
