Is there a time and place for spontaneity?

I would seek assistance from a shooting association. Doing the right thing should not be justification for the police to force you to sell up.

Sounds about right, loads of protection for the scum bags and nothing for good decent people!

Sorry to hear of it and good luck with your sale but before selling up have you had any legal advice or assistance from someone like BASC

New chairman of BASC (peter glenser) is a barrister specialising in the law relating to firearms. So a approach direct to him whether through membership or as a paying client may well be worth some time. I wouldn't be selling a thing just yet. Lodge FAC items with RFD and see where you can resolve things with the police. Good luck.

I think you should get professional advice before you do anything. Even ignoring the financial loss incurred by selling off all your kit at second hand prices, losing your ticket will be held as information by the police. If you haven't done anything wrong you shouldn't be penalised.

It's times like this I wish I was a barrister, I'd take this for nothing just so justice was done

This is terrible news and discusting police attitude.
I do hope you get some legal advice before you make your mind up on selling.

What information do you base that on ?
The OP has (wisely) given no details as to what has actually occurred, nor has he made any allegation of police unfairness/misconduct etc.
I would join those members urging the OP to get good quality advice and support, before making any decisions regarding his shooting equipment.

possibly bob-tail has been following this on another forum .....
