    Wildlife

Seems I'm on a bit of a roll this week as far as UK wildlife goes! First, a pipistrelle in the living room, then a common lizard outside the office this morning. Keeping my eye out for a Yeti now, although I have no capture plans

A Man should be wise, but never too wise. He who does not know his fate in advance is free of care

I'm sure that you know what you're doing, but I've always felt that it's best not to handle bats because of the harm that they can do to you. I'm sure that I read that they're suspected of carrying rabies in this country. My cousin got bitten whilst taking one out of a fishing hut on the River Dee and had to go on the full anti-rabies treatment afterwards.

I thought rabies wasn't present in the UK.

Well, bats have one advantage in that they can fly...... nothing to stop them crossing the channel
Opinions are like arseholes....... we all have them, and most of them stink

    Yes it is

    Woodsmoke,

I wouldn't go showing to many people the bat photo, don't know about down south but up here you need to be licenced to handle bats - even one!

It's illegal to photograph bats without a licence from Natural England.

I sincerely hope that remark is "tongue in cheek" otherwise you are seriously misinformed!
