    One round to do both.

    Hello

I currently shoot 150g RWS KS in my 308. Great round shoots well. I also shoot 155g match grade home load in it too. The 155g is considerably cheaper than the RWS and I use that for targets out to about 450y. It's the same zero as the RWS at 100y and actually shoots flatter beyond that. I want to shoot longer distances with my .308.

The .308 is currenly getting an upgrade and will have on it a 1:10 twist 26" barrel from Sassen Engineering (formerly Border Barrels) Varmint Weight (Sendero) profile barrel.

I want to use one off the shelf bullet that will be good for all uk animals, get me out to 1000y with out too much bullet drop and not be too expensive. Any suggestions? Other option is get another scope for the target stuff.

    Cheers.

What about 150gr or 165gr SST
    BD 0.447 on the 165s

should have no problem pushing them hard for long range or slower for less damage

Thanks for reply. The 165 SST is a good option, just had a look at them, cheers. They drop quite a bit less than the 150's which is a consideration as I don't want to run out of MOA adjustment. I should of said I don't home load I buy them from Bisley. 40-ish for 20 RWS or 45 for 50 homeloads. A lot cheaper.

Technically you can't have one round for both, you need expanding for deer and you're not allowed to use expanding for target shooting . . . . . .

Well. . . I humorously mentioned A-Max, but that post seemed to disappear

Yes I did know that thanks.

One round to shoot them all
    One round to blast them
One to aim at them all
And right on target cast them
