Thread: New scope - Vortex viper?

    New scope - Vortex viper?

Looking for a new scope to go on a T3 .22-250 for shooting foxes and roe. Obvious choice is a S&B 8x56 but I like the option to vary the magnification now and again.

Been looking at the Vortex Vipers, reading a lot of good things about them. Thinking either 3.5-10x50 with 1inch tube or 2.5-10x44 with 30mm tube. What would be best out of these? Am I better with 30mm tube or the 50mm objective.

For a budget of 300 to 500 is one of these a good option or is there something else I should be going for?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

The used bushnell elite tactical on here. Buy it before i do. Great scope.

If you ever need to use a night vision add-on to shoot foxes, then go with the Bushnell.
The Vortex scopes simply don't work well with IR, but the Bushnells are excellent with IR

I have an immaculate Sightron SIII 3.5-10X44 LRMD (Mil-Dot) Side focus in Matte Black. Box and all original contents. Good glass and not bulky. 420 posted

Thanks for the advice and offers so far, possibly interested in the Duralyt. I'd rather a simple scope with with only the mag to adjust. Max range I'll be shooting out to is about 250 yards.

I would have a look at the hawke scopes. Their new range are great spec and glass for the price

The 30mm tube gives you the extra elevation adjustment needed to place a shot at 800m or more. It will not in any way improve the light gathering. That is down to the size of the objective lens and the coatings.
    Go 56mm.
