    Winchester .308 M70 Coyote Light

    Any reason why not buy

It will be used for a little deer work without much walking and a bit more
range use with a 20 MOA rail.

I already have an X Bolt varmint in 243 which I am very happy
with ..(consistent V bulls at 600 yds)

I don't want a "black gun " like my target only mates.

I don't think I would be too wild about the 12" twist but that can be gotten around.~Muir

1:12 twist is fine in the .308 Win for up to 175-gr SMK, and some folks with barrels long enough get the velocity to shoot 200-gr bullets with great result, using RL-17.

See my recent post on "30-06 vs 300 Win Mag" about the US Army testing of twist rates.

Muir, you need to chime in on that, anyway, since you are .30-40 Krag aficionado.

True that but I am a 1-10 advocate for 308 for other reasons. It seems to handle about everything well.~Muir
