    OT Computer Question

Anyone know if you can save something to one folder and it automatically carbon copies it to another folder.

    Cheers

You could just right click on the folder and copy it, then just paste it in the location required.

Hope thats the answer you wanted!

I think windows briefcase does something like that but I never use it.
And there is "dropbox" for different computers

Brian. It's not clear from your question what you are trying to achieve. There is little point in having two copies of the same file on the same drive. I use http://www.smartsync.com/ and it can be used to sync files to another drive or server. Another option to consider is Google Docs or renting space on Amazon. Rgds JCS

What we(read my son) want to do is price a job up with our quote and materials quantity, one copy for the business folder on the computer and one copy to go to Dropbox so it can be accessed from the iphone, wanted to know if it could be cc'd to dropbox other than the other route

    cheers

If your email account is accessible on your iPhone, why not just email it to yourself. Then you can access is at the PC or on the go by your iPhone.

There are a range of things that you can do. A key question is whether or not the iPhone user wants to only read the quote or update it. I use QuickOffice to access Excel, Word and .pdfs on my iPhone when I have no network access for the iPhone. Using QuickOffice I have the iPhone wirelessly mapped as a Network Place on my PC and can save from Excel direct to the iPhone once I have finalised a spreadsheet. As another post suggests, if the iPhone isn't in wireless range, e-Mail the quote.

I haven't used Dropbox, but it seems similar to Google docs. The downside of these is that you need network access. I went QuickOffice in order to access key files where there is no network. I have put stalking maps into .pdfs and saved them on the iPhone for reference. QuickOffice allows editing, but I don't usually edit anything on the iPhone. I also make extensive use of a .pdf printer. One of the handiest tools I have.
