Considered answer, a tick is an arachnid with eight legs and no antennae. That looks like an insect with 6 legs and antennae. Mouth parts are more pointed as well and ticks are generally brown to ****ty grey.

+1 for the shield bug - loads of different types and colours - just seem to pop up every now and again, not known to be man-eaters or carry lyme disease thankfully!
