    Does anyone have a formula for measuring a cwd head thanks. Trevor

    Doug thanks for that rather than wasting 32 I was looking for an idea to see if it would be close to a medal before sending it away .

    You will only have to pay the return postage if it doesn't make a medal.

    But If you want to rough score it measure the tusk from eruption to tip, circumference at eruption and add up, take away any differences

    above 180 and you have a gold

    Bez it's 30mm circumference at the thick end and they are 70 mm long

    You will need to boil out the head until the tucks can be pulled out and they are now measured the full length of the outer/longer edge of the tusk. They used to be measured from the point of eruption but that changed a while ago. Sounds like you see a very high medal. The Cert will read like so;

    Left Right Difference

    Length of Canine

    Circumference at
    Widest Point

    Totals



    Add totals together and subtract the differences.

    180 Bronze 190 Silver 210 Gold
