Terminal effect? This is a target bullet so I presume you mean on fox?
Near enough anything that expands at all out of a 300 win mag will destroy a fox.

Generally if a bullet is a HP and isn't a pistol bullet it's match. The HP is just there from manufacturing or as a ballistic aid, it's not for expansion.
If you're going after deer stock to soft points or ballistic tips. May be good to jump up a weight or two as well with the 300 to keep meat damage down a little or use a tougher 150gr bullet. Prvi do a 150gr SP which you could try and then assess from there as to whether you want to reduce meat damage or not.

Why would i want to reduce damage? A well placed shot with any hunting bullet should not cause unacceptable damage.

    Ha!
shoot your first small animal with a sub 150gr full power 300wm and then ask that question!
not ALL hunting bullets are equal

some at factory MV will produce unacceptable damage on out thin skinned light game

its why I went up to 200gr loads in the 300wm

lots of energy, much less velocity, much less bruising and blood damage between muscles

some .300 wm ammo will cut a roe in half. Use a suitable bullet

I used this round in my old TRG-42. Obviously it was never used on anything other than targets but accuracy wise it surprised me. Shot it at 600 at Bisley and was V bull after V bull until it got boring.

Are we talking privi's line here specifically or more generally?

I'd say it's a general thing but the majority of pointy HP bullets are match. I can only think of the Berger hunting bullets which are so designed but I am sure there is more.
