Sauer 202 Elegance .308

Love my 202, I have both the synthetic and wood stock and have to admit I love the wood but am too worried i'll mark it as most of my shooting it lamping or highseat.
- this right here! im so afraid of getting the wood damaged. i do alot of crawling and wrecking in and out of rough brambles and woods **** scared of wrecking it lol

Plus you got it in .308 which as we all know is the best caliber ;)
Thanks, its a lovely gun. im most amazed in the action - its as smooth as butter. makes my sako feel as rough as a cobblestone wall lol

If you're shooting badly, you need a new gun. If you're shooting well then you deserve a new gun.
- im going for the 2nd half lol got ~17 fallow this year on my permissions. thought i deserved a treat lol

The only rifle I really regret selling (and I have flipped a lot of rifles...) is a Sauer 202 in 270. Couldn't bring myself to thread it for a moderator.

Great rifles, smooth action, great triggers, feed really well and are usually very accurate.

Buy yourself a plastic stock and fore-end for it, they come up for sale every now and then. Just swap out the walnut for the plastic when you are going somewhere nasty and dirty.

hi claret dabbler
i have your old .270 still in great condition and still unmoderated

"Hi I've still got that 202 you regret selling - muhahaha" lol tbf rare occasion when you get a new and old owner in same place. was it sold through here?

just noticed claret you are also a northern ireland man - where abouts?

Amazing place is Stalking Directory. I sold it on here to a Scottish bloke.

I'm between Portadown and Banbridge.

I bought a sauer 202 .270 from jimbo123p a few years back
was under the impression that it had been claret dabblers ,not that it matters but would be interesting which is his old rifle , probably more for him than us
mine still in great nick and still unmoderated
Regards Agent

It's good to hear it's still being put to good use...;)

I shot boar with that rifle in Czech Republic (twice), Germany (twice) and Croatia. Muntjac and Fallow in England at least six times plus the usual deer here at home.

Hi Claret,

I'm between Portadown and Banbridge.

Well seasoned then :p would love to go for a boar shot. heard bad things from a few people of late though. a lot of people getting conned and only getting a fallow doe over the 3 days etc. im sure not all that way but doesn't paint a good light

Nearer Gilford.

Wild boar hunts are problematic, too many people over-selling the possible bag.

Still, it's possible to have a good trip with a fair chance of a shot or two.

ha only a stone throw away. do you go to any of the clubs? ive been looking for a club to join of late but struggling to find one which suits what im after. im more of a rifle shooter. no real interest in pistol shooting, which most people seem to be interested in now a days at the clubs

I've yet to fire it! Lol had it 2 weeks and it's teasing me! Was playing about with what scope I wanted for it. Was going to go mid range then thought fk it. Good rifle deserves a good scope . Waiting on a swarovski z6i 2.5-15x56 BT coming. Hopefully have it for the weekend

donni

you will not be dissointed with the z6i in 2.5-15-56 I have one on my 6.5x55 sauer 202 and it is the best scope I have ever looked through

I also have a Swarovski z6 2.5-15-56 for my sauer 202 in 30-06

I use zeigler mounts and they are gereat

Finally got out with the rifle! didn't have much time but got it shooting onto the target before had to get packed up, will finalize it at the weekend. glad to get it out of the system lol. No joke, the scope is something to behold. See in poor light conditions, I've never seen anything like. Was scoping sheep at 800yrds easily after 10pm.

Cannot wait to get out for the new season.

Thought id add some porn for the fans ;) funny how delicate I was being with it lol

Glad you managed to get out with it dOnni . If you do damage the wood don't worry, just get in touch and I will sort it out for you. It used to be mine and I sorted out the marks on it and oiled it up.
You could do with a plastic set as well as wood so you can cover all eventualities.

It used to be mine

Seriously? haha small world. did you own it from new? just would be good to get a good idea how many rounds that have been through it.

Gorgeous gun, was out again on saturday and shot 3 x 1/4 inch groups at 100 yrds. excellent piece of kit. if my wife knew how much i loved it she'd get me to get rid of it out of jealousy lol

Cheers amadablam, lovely piece of kit. can't wait for the fallow season to start again. love getting out even if it is just for a dander (which more times than not thats what it ends up being )
