Thread: carrying roe

    carrying roe

ive just made a nice and easy way to carry roe.
found an old army belt with the press studs in it and thought of an idea.
if you cut a piece about 8" long with the press studs on each end and just tie a loop of twine or cord through each side. then you can loop a bite through the legs front and back and the belt just sits on your shoulder while the deer hangs. very easy and very cheep (sorry no picks) but try it, it makes carrying them easy

Watch out for the ticks in the spring & summer months carrying your deer like this, I carried one 80 meters and inherited five of the wee little F****ers

Antlers hitting your shin, massive wet blood patch on your thigh.Ticks migrating upwards. Nahhh.
    Sack or drag for me.
Sorry to rain on your parrade!.

I use a GPMG sling with a noose on each end works a treat. Almost no ticks here so not had a problem with that and if you put a fore leg between the antlers or put the snare round the antlers it stops the head from flaping arround and potentialy harming you. If you blead on the spot and do a suspended gralloch there is not much blood but there will be some. Easier to clean a pair of trousers than a roe sack. The main reason I use this is because I dont want the strap of a roe sack getting between the butt of the rifle and my shoulder but each to their own.

    +1 cheap and effective!

It's just a shame they don't do them in camo cos they clash terrible with my hunting clothing
