URGENTLY REQ - 2 Mature Roe Buck capes.
Hi, Guys - let down on the promise of two mature Roe buck capes, I wonder if any members could help me out with the above for an up coming project of mine. Looking for beautiful summer shoulder capes of mature bucks in top condition. Will pay 45.00 per cape plus next day postage. As part of the deal, I could return your trophy (?) to you fully cleaned and whitened. Please PM, text or phone me for details on how to proceed on preparing the cape. Thanks. Bill. 07776165947

Can pay instantly via paypal or cheque.

URGENTLY REQ - 2 Mature Roe Buck Capes

In response to my request I have had several enquiries as how to cape out a Roe buck, so just a quick guide. The cape needs to be taken from as far back as the sternum cartilage ( where it meets the stomach) as per lines. Cut around the forelegs as per line and remove the cape as if removing a sock (called tube skinning, as no other cuts are made) the further up the neck you go it gets tighter to skin. When you get to that point - approx 6 inches from the atlas joint, carefully severe the neck. Leave to cool and then wrap in a secure air tight bag and freeze.

You are absolutely right Choc - there is no need to cut the throat or bleed other than through the diaphram. The more skin the better and best product is where the entry and exit wounds are behind both shoulders. best of luck, mate. Bill.
