    Hornady 3031 price.

Who supplies Hornady 3031's (.308" diameter, 150grain, flat base, spire point, interlock bullets) at a good price?
I went into Graham's of Inverness the other day. They didn't have any. They called them "bullet heads" (what are those anyway?) and they were looking for about 43 for a hundred (inflated price or what?). And yes... I do mean bullets, not cartridges/loaded rounds or shells.

    T. I get the 6.5mm equivalent - 129gr Hornady SP flat base from Macleods in Tain. Give Gregor a bell. Rgds JCS

Thanks JCS. I seldom make it all the way up to Gregor's, but I'll ask him how much he's charging. BTW I've bought a rifle, scope and rings from him in the past so I know what a good guy he is . In the meantime I've sourced a supply nearer home at a much better price.
    Angel-Skill-At-Arms, is that source.

Book early, as the rep of Hornady grows so does the waiting time.

That's interesting to know, they've caught on have they? I've used them since I started reloading, 16 years ago. I've yet to have a bad experience, attributable to product, with them in 3 different calibres and thousands of rounds. I cannot say the same of any other brand except Berger.

Germany was flooded with them for a while. Best price I saw a while ago was around 13 Euro/100. They must be something special in the UK at 43.

Not special edi, just another case of "Rip of Britain", if you ask me. I saw them at something like $20 US (12.90) in the States. For some reason it's just here that stuff costs too much. I'd try importing them myself but I gather that's a bit of a nightmare unless you're a registered firearms dealer. However, I've now been quoted 30/hundred which is a bit better.

    Andy,
Yes I'm sure, very reliable. Met him personally at the IWA 2 years ago.
He can source just about any reloading bit.
e-mail me if you need any closer info.

Tamus, I have'nt used that bullet on deer yet, but they where very
accurate in my rifle. under 2" at 300m which was better than sst's.
As I said, I don't know how they perform on deer but the thin jacket suggests not
to go too fast or use more for neck shots. Maybe avoid shoulder or
    heavy bone on deer.
The left one on the pic is the Hornady 3031 which seems to have a thin jacket
    compared to 150gr Nos BT, 155gr A-max, 165gr SST, 165gr NosBT, 190gr SMK.
