Hi all
I am new to the idea that I may be able to shoot deer. I have long felt that it is an expensive form of shooting to do.
It all mounts up and is therefore excludes a lot of people form being able to enjoy the sport.
I have a young family and find it hrad to justify paying £60-£150+ for a few hours out on the ground, where I may have to pay more for shooting an animal, AND at the end of that you don't get to take what you've shot home with you unless you pay even more. All you get is the head, I'm not interested in trophys, I know a lot are.
For the cost of a few hours stalking in the UK my whole family can book flights to see my inlaws and can shoot boar and deer there for nothing.
I find it hard to understand why it costs so much over here, even if your helping with a cull. Your doing the land owner a service, and it costs you a fortune. Can someone please explain this to me?
Is it like most things, who you know?
Thanks for reading this
