My Nomad parka had a zip fail and Philip loaned me a full length hooded smock and i got my parka back some 2 months later as it was sent to Riceland for repair... ended up with both and have had no problems since.
Hi Spoony,i bought a Ridgeline Roar jacket a year ago.Its from New Zealand so you can trust it to keep you dry.It doesnt have a lining inside so you need to wear your layers underneath.

Don't know that company or product but for £99 I would take a gamble on one of those if it wasn't for the fact that I already have enough jackets to kit out most of the guys on this site! JC
I only recently got a Sportchief All Year 3 in 1 jacket for £90-00 in the John Norris sale but I was actively looking for a smock type outer and found these below as possible Swazi alternative's

Well the stoney creek gear is awesome, the sika top is very useful and the top I end up wearing more often than not! 100% waterproof it is not, but as long as it is not bucketing down for hour on hour then it will keep you dry! The real beauty of this top is the fact that it breathes really well, much better than my harkila prohunter. But then this is only a problem when the weather is milder, as goretex works better in colder conditions!
The ridge line gear is good from what i saw of it when i was in new zealand, but the stoney creek and swazi are better!
well i ordered the ridgline on the link here for 99 quid
ill do a review on it once tried it in the rain
was grouse loading in the angus glens last week and every other estate cancelled ...our guns didnt and it was torrential all day .....99% of peeps were wet if not drenched.....i siad after that inm going to save to get decent weather gear!!!! so ill take the 99 quid gamble till i can save for a swazi or similar....
i did fancy a nomad but too many reports of dodgy leaking kit at the moment
just not what you want when handing over money like that for waterproof kit
I would be very glad to hear how ridgeline clothing is performing in UK weather. Certainly Scotland will probably have more rain than the rest of us in Europe.
gg, The jackets are brilliant , but I am not so keen on the trousers. The press studs on the rear pockets come off far too easily for me.
I bought some Ridgeline Roar trousers in a sale on line, I have been in the highseat twice in a torrential downpour with them on. I was bone dry! Not very breatheable in the warm, but then what is?
