Lyme and long term survival

A very interesting article in the BMJ recently. It examined people in Denmark with a known diagnosis and compared them to the general population. (Denmark has a better registry of public heath data than us). They concluded that, "A verified diagnosis of Lyme has no substantial effect on long term survival, health or education/social funding" There is an odd association with blood cancers, but this is under investigation and with non-melanoma skin cancer (more outdoor = more bites as well as more sun).

It's open access, so worth a read: https://www.bmj.com/content/361/bmj.k1998
