Pole saw advice

You do NOT need a ticket for a pole pruner nor any other chainsaw.

Just as you do not need a DSC1 or 2 to shoot a deer.

Bloodly jobs worth H&S bods making up rules as they go  next you know they will get a job as a FEO

I spoke to a health and safety bod this afternoon, no ticket needed for personal or private use.
The moment you take money for doing something it all changes.
And that includes you paying for fuel or chains and then being reimbursed
Fortunately all supplies are bought on account by the club.

Best practice and the relevant AFAG guides would recommend having a ticket but its a bit like a homeowner buying a chainsaw and felling his own trees. The law says he does not need any PPE etc but anyone with a little common sense would have it! What you do with your pole saw on your land is up to you but I don't think you would get away with using an estate saw without a ticket or lending your saw to someone else.

Basically what I said.;)
