Arran!

If a Part time stalker and family were to relocate to Arran, say for instance to Whiting bay, purchasing a property with a drying room, along with early / late cooked meals, dog pounds & security issues attended to, along with catering to the rod fishermen, but not exlcuding the usual holiday makers, also including the provision of commercially endorsed power boat skippering / canoeing & sailing, how much interest would this idea generate from potential customers?, along with later executive vehicle collection from mainland air / rail inks.

Interesting business proposal...… Lots to do and see on Arran and the population rockets in the tourist months from the usual 5,000 to not-enough-space-on-the-road-or-ferry! Loads of good walking in the hills so a drop off and pick up service would be a good move. Supporting folk who are on the Island for the BASC stalking weeks would be another option. Shame there isn't any Roe as the countryside would be ideal for them. Getting to know the estates and staff would be a start and getting contacts all around the Island allows the business to grow. Fishing around the Island (in the sea) may not be as good as it once was, but with some exploration it may show a bit more promise. Not sure how the trout and sea trout fishing is now, but Dougarie control the Iorsa system. Lots of folk go across to Auchrannie and use that as a base as they have links with the gorge walking and archery type activities as well as the cycle hire. We tend to go across out of season as it's not as frantic although some of the visitor attractions don't open until Easter - still loads to do - some good places to eat and drink - lovely place!

:thumb:, Shame this idea wasn't allowed to flourish by a guy who worked for a shooting org, when we first started doing Arran weeks, we were in a place near the golf course, a bit higher up next to the gate we had a key for ( Back door to the forest up a track over a waterfall), think there's still a key in the gun cabinet , the missus I & are kicking this idea around at the mo',, High enough up when in the dark to watch the Nuke subs coming along to harbour, with the wobblies scorching around in the ribs.
