    Gators are not benign

I am amazed to see people at Kiawah Island and Hilton Head Island getting close to alligators, walking dogs near water, walking back roads at night without a light, stomping at alligators on the golf course. A woman was killed this week.

round here we call it "natural selection" 180 square kilometres and she walks the dog past an 8' gator.
It's sad that not everyone shares your point of view, but there's not enough room up your ass for everyone's head.

For us that wildfowl, those things are serious PITA. They like to retrieve ducks also, and the bigger ones like to retrieve retrievers. I haven't had to make the decision yet - but, tag or no, a big gator swimming towards my retriever is likely to receive a load of discouragement.
