The South West Scotland Branch of the BDS will be hosting an evening presentation at the Ken Bridge Hotel New Galloway on Tuesday 9th November commencing 7.30pm. The guest speaker will be Dennis Holland a professional knife maker. Dennis has hunted throughout America and Europe and will give a practical demonstration on the metals currently available for bespoke knives as well as different handle materials.

Dennis will explain the process involved in heat treating the metal and what design options are available for a custom stalking knife. Possibly the most important area to be covered will be knife sharpening. Dennis will present a variety of different sharpening techniques from stone to strop.

Examples of Dennis's work will be available. Non members are most welcome. Cost £2.50p.
