Thread: Who manufacturers the most prestigious firearms?

Who manufacturers the most prestigious firearms?

For me it has to be Boss & Co. The pure craftsmanship and skill that goes into making a pair of Boss Shotguns is absolutely outstanding. They also have a great history and keep their orders really low.
They make a superb rifle aswell. I got to recently handle a Boss in .308 and was it just so well made. A real change from the synthetic rifles I'm so used to.
I wouldn't obviously invest in a rifle by Boss as resale prices are horrendous, but a secondhand shotgun may one day be on the cards, hopefully anyway.

At their prices I would deffo have to speak to "The Boss " about it!

The most outstanding rifle I've handled was a Fuchs and Szecksi double barreled bolt action rifle. I think new they are around 80k euros. When the Euro millions come up that will be my first purchase.

Purely on price, it would have to be Fabbri shotguns, about 100K plus engraving. I have actually had one in my mits, but I am too much of a pleb to really appreciate it.

For me it is the understated functional elegance of a Purdey sidelock. I would break the piggy bank for one of those...

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......

The Dickson of Edinburgh round actioned o/u shotgun is another super elegant shotgun, but how well off do you have to be to take something of that quality into the field.

Well, unless they've changed their attitude since I went there in the 1980s I'd give "Boss" a miss! Treated me as if I'd something stuck to the sole of my shoe!

Now, Holland's? It was if I was the most important customer of the day. They certainly knew how to do "customer service" at Bruton Street and having used it twice for gun fitting I'd absolutely have no hesitation in recommending their facilities for that at Northolt.

Having read the books about African safari as a child and being of the view that the answer to this question isn't just related to who produces the most fancy rifle today it must be said that it would be hard for me to go past Holland and Holland. There can't be many who haven't heard of the 375 or the 300H&H and also the 600 and 700NE and tales from the Dark Continent were, and still are, rarely complete without a mention of one of these cartridges.

I'll certainly never have the cash to own one but in terms of the rifle I don't think you can get much more prestigious than H&H.

You'd have to be pretty well of to take a H&H into the African bush.
