    Sling swivel recommendations

    Hi guys,
looking for quick release sling swivel recommendations please?
Its not something I want to scrimp on as it could be an expensive lesson if you don't get decent swivels, don't fancy standing on the hill with a rifle left swinging off a bent or broken swivel for the sake of a tenner!!

    Cheers

I use the Recknagel quick release ones, their part number is 22009-3000 and they are well made and work well. The ones I use are on a Blaser as I believe that the size of the "hole" in the stud on the rifle varies between the US and Europe so worth checking this as I think I'm on the European sizes.

Only problem was that I did have one fail on me some time back, the little pin that goes through the stud on the rifle fell out and I think the weld gave way. Anyhow, I dropped Recknagel an email and within a few days they had sent me 5 new ones to replace it.

They are not cheap and despite having had a failure they do seem a quality item with good customer support.

I have a few extra sets of 1" GT locking swivels from Grovtec US, they look very decent.
I'm using some on my rifles since a while.
I also have still in package one set of 1 1/4" GT Mil-force swivels which are of military spec,
very sturdy but also heavier. also Grovtec US.
I needed a few items from Grovtec and just ordered the swivels and a few slings along as they are much cheaper
than possibly the same thing in Europe.
Saying that, Recknagel normally has good stuff...just expensive.

I don't know of anyone carrying them. I would have 3 spare sets of the normal 1" swivels
and one set of the military quality.
I could certainly post out if you would like to try one.
Just need to find what I payed for them.
