set up a decent lamp to illuminate your target on your patch one night.

sounds like to me you need to use the old trick of having a dentist appointment around 2 and its not worth going back to work.

JayJay, Birmingham is less than an hour up the road from Monmouth, and the range is alongside the A40 trunk road. We have an indoor tunnel range and shoot several evenings a week up until 10.30. There is a small guest charge but it is quite reasonable. If this is of any interest to you send me a pm.

Paul at Barony, no offence but... "set up a decent lamp to illuminate your target on your patch one night".

Not a wise thing to do at all, zero a rifle that you do not know the fall of shot for in the dark? Safer, better in day and better still on a range or somewhere where you can see other people/users.

Appreciate this might be less of a challenge on the Glen, but otherwise its the sort of thing that has 'disaster' painted all over it.
