First question, where was the car, next where was he, why did the police not notice the window to start with, easy to make assumptions.

If the police had to break into the car, i would think that the owner was not in the immediate area, or he would of been able to see what was going on and open it for them. If the guy felt the need to hide his gun under a coat, he never had any intention of being within view of the vehicle, or else why hide it. Would be nice to get the full facts, and considering that the police do act with common sense. This guy is one lucky chappy if you ask me.

why would you look under coats if your main concern was letting the dog get some air ! the dog in car was just an excuse to break in

sounds like set up that didn't go as planned, couldn't have been on public property? or there would have been an offense, loaded weopon in a car with an open, albeit slightly window. I was the under the impression you had to be within a reasonable distance, 20 odd yards of a loaded weapon to be in control of it, probably wrong, however in this case every thing was wrong including the judgment in court. deerwarden

It seems that the car was left in Picadilly while he attended a court hearing. It hasn't been easy to find out the facts, or comprehend the verdict.

    Reading between the lines:

    "member of the public"

    read anti!

As for security... "secure your worship? - I left it on [presumably] private land, in a locked car, out of sight [under a pile of coats] with a ****ing big dog guarding it, how is that not reasonable precautions?"

Law only says that you have to take reasonable precautions, does not say you have to remove bolt or ammo!

This does sound like malicious bullsh#t from an anti. How hard can it be to see a car has a window open before you decide to break in to it?

These people need to f##k off and mind their own business and the cops need to get doing what they are paid to do, instead of harassing decent people and being stooges for a bunch of left wing nutters...
    Brian.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......
