    Used .270 rounds wanted

Hi all i am getting in to loading my own rounds and was wondering if anyone has any used .270 cases they want to get rid of, or would be interested in selling.
Also some 22.250 info i currently use sako 50 grain arrowhead balistic tipped and would like to recreate this round. Does anybody know what sort of powder and primers they use or what do you recommend. Regards 270rem.

I think you might mean 'Used Cases' as the word round could be referring to a whole cartridge - case powder and bullet !! so if they were used they would not be a lot of use to you
Good luck with your reloading, it is a hobby that will grow and grow until you are shooting half the time just to get rid of the cartridges you've reloaded

The Sako .22-250 load you mention uses Nosler 50gr Ballistic Tips (easily found), and Sako list 35.5grs of Vit N140 as their load.

Just looked it up in their latest Rifle/Ammo catalogue which I had handy. I believe this is on-line @ WWW.SAKO.FI

hi mate do yuo have the reloading gear to start ,i can give you a few once fired brass to get you going.on the powder and loads for 270 i have been using sierra gameking 130. powder 60 grains of h4831 but this is max load so start low and work up 20 thou off the lands there is a few using the same set up but lands varies with different rifles anywhere from 10-20 thou off . speer grand slams 130 gr and hornady interlocks are also very good but every rifle is different. i also usehodgdon h4895 slow with a 150gr interlock atb, wayne

Sako, very helpfully, give the exact powder charges (they use VihtaVouri powders) and bullet descriptions on their website - most of their bullets are renamed versions of popular brands, so you'll have to compare a few BTs to get a match.

Sound advice indeed. I find H4831 is great in my rifle. 130 grain speer, sierra, nosler (not too fussy really) 59 grains of H4831 (slight pressure signs at 60gr), 10 thou off the lands (within plus or minus 2 thou variation accross the batch).

As and when Mr Mereside sends you a few cases - let me know what type they are and I'll see about sending a few more down to you if I have the same brand. I think I have Federal and Winchester cases at home.

    Good luck.
