    Moderators...love them or hate them?

    I like to use rifles both moderated & as they were intended, without, so I had to vote for, as the choice was limited.

    Don't like them, but like what they do. I had to vote hate them, they spoil the look of the rifle and add weight, but I wouldn't be without them! I like my hearing and don't want to lose it.

    Blindness to suffering is an inherent consequence of natural selection. Nature is neither kind nor cruel but fiercely indifferent.

    I like also like my hearing and its very useful for a lot of my stalking as its near enough to people to want one for one reason or another.

    "Imagine you're a deer. You're prancing along, you get thirsty, you spot a little brook, you put your little deer lips down to the cool clear water... BAM! A f**kin bullet rips off part of your head! Your brains are laying on the ground in little bloody pieces! Now I ask ya. Would you give a f**k what kind of pants the son of a bitch who shot you was wearing?"

    Love what they do for noise, muzzle blast and often accuracy;
    Hate the sheer size and weight of most over barrel 'lumps';
    Hate the length of my quicksilver....
    Love the weight, balance and effectiveness of my Quicksilver on the .270....

    My hearing could not survive with out them, though the damage of years of exposure
    to unmoderated gunfire has done the damage tinnitus left ear, would not shoot without one now ,though they can unbalance a rifle and make it heavier but with the vast array to choose from and also the option to shorten the barrel the pros for me far outweigh the cons so I guess you can chalk me up as I one of those love em!!!!!types

    I voted hate, but, I wouldnt be without one on my .22-250 for foxing. I think for the recreational stalker who doesnt shoot that many deer a year, the additional expense and extra weight of a moderator is more than enough reason not to get one. A huge stalk up the hill or a long drag with a carcase soon makes the extra weight a burdon. For the proffesional stalker, be it as a guide or the shooter I think they are invaluable. So although I voted 'hate' I'm somewhere inbetween really !
