Is it possible to get a 50 Grain bullet for reloading in .223 (.224) that is not a varmit round and so would be suitable to use on Munti's and fox.

Lightest "Labelled" non varmint .224 ammo I have seen is 55gn from Sierra called game king. Given that you can get them in FMJ I think it a marketing name to be honest although some may know better.
Sako do a factory 55gn as well with a wee picture of a roe on it.

I have shot roe with federal 55gn for years and they went down and did not get back up, same for nosler 55gn BT and now I use speer SP which is yup you guessed it boxed as a varmint round. I know about the pros and cons but in scotland the law does not mention varmint rounds so I aint doing nothing illegal.

Dont know if munties are hard to kill but roe dont seem to be with yank varmint ammo.

Norma make a 50 Grn SP for deer like Roe for the .222 Rem which is still popular in Europe it seems. The trouble is finding soemone who stocks them. Due to this I have been using 55 grn bullets in my .222 Rem.

I use 55gr Sierra Gamekings sp on Roe's and Foxes and have had no problems with them,

50 grain softpoint like they use on the sako game heads would be good for both.
