    Deer dog training books

    As the title says.

Now that I have the little angel GWP () I think its time I stared reading up on how to start training her.
Ive trained my labs and a cocker for working/picking up/deer tracking but think that there might be a bit more to the more headstrong breeds.
Does anybody have any books covering deer dog training or recommendations?

    The two you want are:

Niels Sondergaard "Working with Dogs for Deer" - http://www.bds.org.uk/BOOKD39
John Jeanneney "Tracking Dogs for Finding Wounded Deer" - http://www.bds.org.uk/BOOKD26

Plus one on this, I've just finished reading Niels Sondergaard and it is an excellent book, although some things are jumbled in the translation. I'm not sure he meant that the best way to bond with your new puppy was to sleep with it!! But it is a great read with lot's of good advice. I've just put it in the kennel with my spaniels but they don't seem to be doing so well with it!!!

7 months on, and many thanks to ScottC for the loan of his book, the training of the little angel (wasnt Lucifer an angel?) seems to be paying off.
After several issues with her attacking my other dogs we've reached an agreement whereby she doesnt attack the other dogs and I dont have to beat several different colours out of her for doing so. Definitely starting to settle down now at 10 months and has started pointing on deer and, for some bizarre reason foxes!
I wonder how some of the other dogs from the same litter are getting on (Cadex etc?)
