    Woodland Trust to create new forest near St Albans

    Any thoughts on how one might secure the stalking rights?

    Stayangry,
    I have no doubt that the woodlands trust will have got a grant to plant,to get a grant they must have in place a deer management program,if you put forward a plan that is similar to theirs then you should be in with a good shout of getting it.
    Go and have a look at it,if its a brand new plantation then you will be looking at total eradication until the trees are such that they are no longer threatened by deer.
    This will mean putting forward a cull plan to the relevant authorities, so that you can get an out of season license and if possible a night license..
    Move fast, before someone else beats you to it!
