I use a re-barreled Tikka 690 in 6.5x284. I use 120 Ballistic Tips over 56 grains of N165,Fed 210m primer in Lapua Brass. Very accurate in my Rifle.
This load is safe in my Rifle, I suggest you start 10% lower and work up

Use this calibre for the last 6 - 7 years, now on second barrel,

excellent on anything, I use 130 TSX.

Sub 1/2 MOA accuracy, low recoil, easy to load, brass not cheap.

I have a Winchester 100 semi auto in .284 win. Have not yet collected it from the smith where it was getting 2 new scopes and mounts. Supposed to be .270 win equivalent so time will tell.

Case capacity is similar to the 30/06 so it should be very capable.

    56gr n165 and a 120gr bullet - that'll be shifting.......

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......

I'm using 6.5-.284 on deer with 140grain Hornady soft points and SSTs, both driven to an MV of around 2950 fps using Vv N160 (from a 24" barrel). Prefer it to the .270win on various levels. Very flat trajectory surprisingly low recoil and muzzle blast, excellent terminal performance.

Not as fast as you may think. Just touches 3000fps out of my 24" Krieger. Very accurate though so left it at that. Bang-Flop on Stags and Hinds.

Really? I ran my 270 for years on 51.5gr of n160 under 140gr Interlocks. That was doing 2850. Thought you would be getting at least 300fps over that.
