    Hornady Interlock SST Bullets

Has anybody used " Hornady SST 150g" bullet heads on .308 before, looking for some feedback? i shoot a few Sika a year and considering maybe using them, any feed back would be great.

+1 on this, might be interested to have a bash with them in 308

A very good bullet I use SSt 95gr in my 243 and my dad uses SST 150gr in his 308. Never had a problem with them, although when skinning in is quite common to find little fragments but I assume this is the norm with expending ammo.

    Hi Von.

I use the Hornady SST in 150gr for my .30-06, over 50gr of IMR-4895 in SAKO brass with a Federal GM210M primer. I get approx 2847 fps over the chrono, and groups at .75" / 130 yd zero. Use on Fallow, Roe, and the occasional Sika with no significant carcase damage when shot thru the heart and lungs. Mainly leaves a tidy exit wound, but they do open up a lot when you hit bones. I switched from a Sierra Gameking softpoint, and don`t regret it at all. Solid bullet with excellent results on game.

    Good luck.

Hi i know you asked for 308 but have tryed them in the 26/06 which are 117g. I could only get 1" group with them & found that i have had more roe run with this calibre with this bullet than others but were quite good on the reds. I think they dont expand enough on roe but i am a stalker who dose the ever contrivershal head shot on deer & when i haed shot deer with the 117g sst they were some of the worst iv seen but on the whole dident like them on the roe.

I have just got hold of some 165g SST for the 308. Thought I would try them as getting tight groups with 168g matchking. Use 95g SST in the 243 and happy with them.

ive used the sst extencively in my 6.5x55 and found it deadly accurate and a very dependable bullet with very little meat damage loaded up to 2800fps !

but in my .270 different story , i loaded 150gn sst's to try and big damage !

had a game dealer dock me 4kg off the weight off a chest shot red hind through bullet damage .

    i wasnt amused !

    cheers lee
