    Possible medal muntjac

I ran into this nice buck while out last evening, I have been told it might be a medal, could anyone who knows about such things take a look and let me know

He's a good looking buck, but my guess is that he may fall short on length. Around 10cm is a good rule of thumb to look for... How long is he?

Page 94 for muntjac, have a go at measuring it yourself.

Slightly different scoring Muntjac as any differences either side are taken away from the total.

He'll score well on circumferences and brow tines but not so good on length. As Moses says, have a go at measuring it yourself, its pretty easy with muntjac. Let us know what score you make it. JC

Nice animal, but I doubt he'll go more than bronze. His best feature I reckon is the span between main beams. Brow tines only count if more than 1cm long. How did you train it to sit like that?

I measured it in mm but just realised it should be cm, it scores by my measurements 54.4 which is a scraper bronze,

MS it had only been dead for about 12 hours when photo'd so rigor helped with the pose, it had been hanging in my shed by its back legs all night.

le that is a super buck, just a shame the brow tines are a bit small,

I have seen a better buck than the one I shot in the same area a few times in the last couple of weeks when I have up a high seat waiting for a group of red spikers, which never turned up, I should have shot him when I had the chance rather than let him go hoping the reds would show
