    CZ 455 American

Hi, I am just about to order myself the above mentioned rifle for shooting practice and to teach my 10 year old son to shoot. Do any forum members have any experience with the 455? I have read of magazine feeding issues but otherwise web feedback seems positive. I am looking at 22LR. I had a Sako Finnfire years ago that I sold to a mate but he wont sell it back to me even though I've offered 50% over the new price.
    Regards Toby

I am curious as to why you wouldn't pick up a cheaper, known quantity like the CZ 452 if 22LR was your goal? Or are you planning on branching out later?~Muir

I bought a new CZ455 a few weeks ago in HMR. Feeds perfectly, shoots for ****. It is going back tomorrow. Won't do better than 2" at 100 yards.
    Brian.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......

Muir, the 452 and the 455 are the same price here. I am not looking at using the switch barrel facility but having read on Rimfire central it seems like there are good and bad points with both models.
Claret, that's a bummer that it doesnt group, try a new barrel? The HMR is supposed to shoot tighter than the 22LR?

Other than the trigger, I have found no problems with the 452's I've bought (2) and shot (a dozen).~Muir

I have the CZ 455 (TH) Varmint in .17 HMR and it shoots a dream. I am getting sub 1" groups @ 100 meters. I have not noticed any problems with it. I think once I get the trigger done, I might just reduce the group size by a bit more.

blunderbust can i ask roughly how much the rifle was. i have a 452 in .22 but stop using it in the summer due to ricochets so am thinking of the .17 but would not want to be without my .22

claret. did you get yours sorted

You can pick up a BRNO model 2 (predecessor to the 452 cz and essentially the same) for about 100 in almost any gun shop in the country it seems if you look on guntrader. Wouldn't that do? Mine was 125 with 4x32 scope and a little moderator thrown in and my son and I both love it. Muir says the triggers are better on these too. I wouldn't know I've never tried a CZ one.
