    law on buying firearm from jersey

    does anyone know what is needed to get a shotgun out of jersey to the uk.

    Don't know of any regs, but if it's new be prepared to pay VAT as channel isles are VAT free.

    cheers callie i found out last night export papers are needed.

    You could always go over get it put on yer ticket and bring it back with no problems.

    I wouldn't have thoughyou would have to pay any extra tax as it is coming from within europe.

    Only gun shop is Newton & Newton, only importer is Newton & Newton, while Jersey's laws are similar to the UK (they haven't banned pistols & semi auto rifles), a UK certificate won't do. They do come over to the UK at times to pick up stock, but don't like to export after the hassel of importing firearms. Popped in while I was over last month and they are very freindly.

    I don't think the channel isles come within Europe for tax purposes, similar situation to the Canaries.
