    Roe doe with triplets

Seen my first ever roe doe with triplets on the estate I'm working on. My boss who has been on the estate for about 25 years has never seen triplets before. We're hoping that all 3 will survive but with all the bad weather we've had and to come it'll be very hard on them. So I will be keeping a eye on them to their progress.
Has any one else seen triplets yet? Any in Scotland?

where i walk the dogs out the back of mine there is a resident buck and doe and i've seen her twice over the last two weeks with three kids in tow, i'm assuming they are her triplets as there aren't any other deer there... tried getting a photo last week but the stupid horses in the paddock come bolting over before i could take one and they buggered off...
    regards, Jez.

    Roe Triplets

    Hi Brent

Yes a have seen quite a few sets over the years in the Tweed Valley especially around the Kelso area. As far as I know the sets I have seen all made it through to the following Spring as they were with their mothers during Winter in the same areas on a regular basis. This was on at least three different estates. I have shot two does carrying them as well over the years. Unusual but not common in SE Borders area.
