YOS, if its for close range dispatch I dont know whether one of the short pistol varieties of the Kimber (?) garden gun might do it ? It takes 9mm shot cartridges, but it might be a bit on the light side perhaps? Its cheap!

Thanks , York guns are selling a 20" barrel .410 they call a .410 pistol but my local fire arms dept say its not a pistol and as its a pistol thats on my ticket I cant have it , it would be too long anyway for me and I cant buy it and have it shortened , they sugested I buy a cheap .410 and get gun smith to cut it down and make it into a pistol gets complicated just have to keep trying ATB Paul

If its less than a barrel less than 30 centimetres in length or is less than 60 centimetres in length overall, its already a"pistol" buy it and saw it to the length you want.

If its a shotgun, i.e over 24" it is illegal to shorten it except for sleeving - we hear of gun smiths apparently doing this, but to date none have reported its completion and no problems with the police.
