I use Minox 8.5X43 HGs and have been very impressed with them. If you have infinite funds then I think Swaro are the way to go but in my view all of the Minox punch above their weight and are at a pretty good place on the price/performance graph. I paid 400 for mine a few years back and if you search there may be some good deals still available. I've never heard anyone say a bad word about them so they are certainly a name to have in mind when looking around.

You sound like you are a serious deerstalker ..... so I would expect that the general consensus on SD would be..... that you should not cut corners on the quality of your glass. The same applies to rifle scopes.

The leading binos brands are Swarovski and Leica. Most serious stalkers have something like Swaro 10x 42 or Leica Geovids.... but they don't come cheap. Maybe look out for a 2nd hand pair if budget is an issue?

The difference in the quality of the optics really shows in the first and last 1/2 hr of daylight....which is often when the deer are out and about.

    Evening Paul.

Didn't realise you were in the market for some binos. You could have peered through my Kahles at the weekend.

I have the 8 x 42 set. They are excellent - more than I need really. I wouldn't get anything more expensive just incase I drop or scratch them.

I think they were about 500ish. I'll check though if I can find the receipt. They were from Swillingtonshootingsupplies.

Well done again with the DSC1.

    No Budget-Swarovski
Budget- Minox 8.5x43's, I had a pair when my Swarovski got damaged, for the price they are absolutley cracking. More bino for the money, not heard anything bad about them.

Search around, you can get some good deals on them 200ish...

Position and hold must be firm enough to support the firearm
The firearm must point naturally at the target without any undue physical effort
Sight alignment (aiming) must be correct
The shot must be released and followed through without disturbing the position

Khales binos 579 from swillington. as they are from the same stable as Swaro i think they may be a bit of a deal
